I HATE Blogger

That’s it, I just can’t take it anymore! I’d written up a ’statistics and earnings update’, and it had taken me about 2 hours to compose. Throughout the time as I was writing my post, I constantly clicked the ’save now’ button so if I lost what I was writing, I could go to drafts and just get it back. Whenever I clicked ’save now’, Blogger told me it was saved.

Well, I JUST finished my statistics and earnings update. I mean, I was completely done. 2 long hours of writing that up but I’d finally finished it. So I went down to click ‘publish post’, but my mouse did this weird thing and backspaced, so it took me to the previous page and I lost my entire post.

“Okay,” I told myself, “Don’t freak out. I can just go recover it from my drafts. It’s saved.” Well guess what? It’s not there!! I spent 2 hours writing that, and Blogger kept telling me it had saved it in my drafts, but it never did. So I lost 2 hours of writing that statistics and earnings update. It had been driving me crazy, and I was relieved to have it finished. And now I have to write it all over again.

I guess I’ll have to restart it tomorrow. But I just want to scream and pull all my hair out. I despise Blogger! I wish I could have Wordpress, with all its fancy little plugins and timestamp options, etc… But I need a free blogging host, so I’m stuck with stupid old Blogger. I don’t know how I’ll ever live with Blogger another day, much less running my blogs on here for years longer!

Oh the sacrifices I make for blogging…

Yes like I said I wish I could use Wordpress but to customize it like I need, I have to pay. So I use Blogger because it’s all around free. *sighs*

For that reason I usually compose long blog posts in Word and then copy them across. You don’t have to worry then!

Mark - Yes, I do that sometimes, but a lot of the time I think that nothing is going to happen and I’ll be fine. I really should have written it up in Word. When I DO rewrite it (which will be tonight or tomorrow), I definitely will in Word. I’ve learned my lesson ;)

Like Mark, I compose most of my posts offline then just paste ‘em into Blogger to publish. This gives me the chance to stock up on a few article ideas where they’re flowing freely so I’ll have something to post when I’ve hit a dry spell.

Lately, I’ve been experimenting with using Google Notebook as a place to gather notes and compose blog entries… Seems better than (Windows) Notepad, and less cumbersome than Word.

Rob - Yes I’m going to start writing all of mine in Word now. I don’t want to lose anymore hours of work. But I’ll also check out Google Notebook ;)
