SlashMySearch - Worth Your Time?
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I have been with SlashMySearch since the end of March, and in the beginning when I’d just signed up, I was pretty thrilled. Read the old review. However, now it’s getting near the end of May and I’m not so sure why I ever joined their little program in the first place.Basically, SlashMySearch pays you for using their search engine. You can also earn revenue through use of their forum and email provider. If referrals sign up under you, you get paid for a percentage of their activity as well. When you use Google and do research, you never get paid for your searches. But with SlashMySearch, you do. I thought I’d end up making a fortune from this site, but boy, was I wrong!
As I said, I’ve been with SlashMySearch for months. But guess what? I haven’t even made more than a dollar. When you do searches, you make a fraction of a cent. My current earnings, exactly, are $0.88813. Or, 88 cents. I haven’t really been using SlashMySearch anymore though. I gave up on them a while back, and just started to depend on the people I’d referred. But I’m not getting much from my referrals either, apparently.
I gave up on SlashMySearch because I feel that they don’t pay enough. Sure, you’ll make a truckload if you have 10,000 referrals, but I only have 6 direct referrals and 3 second-level referrals. Also, the search engine takes too long to load for me. I DO like how their search engine lets you rate the results, and even better, gives you a preview of the site you searched for before you even go to it. But the cons outweigh the pros.
Even though I’m not using SlashMySearch for myself anymore, I’m not backing out completely. I’ll let my referrals keep drawing in fractions of pennies, and maybe in 5 years I’ll have enough to make the payout. I mean, I have nothing to lose anymore. But from now on I’m not wasting my own time with them.
If you’d still like to try out SlashMySearch for yourself, sign up here. If you don’t want to waste your time and if you’d like to have fun while making money, try myLot. I’ve already received my first payout from them through my PayPal account, so I can assure you they’re not a scam and definitely worthwhile.
And yes everyone, I’m back from my trip, and I won’t be going anywhere else anytime soon! I will make up for all the missed posts. If you have something you want me to post about or a site to review, use the contact form to let me know or drop a comment on this post. It’s good to be back!

i agree with you Tay, i also feel that SMS pay so low. Even if they lowered their minimum payout to $20 from $50, i feel that it would take forever to reach. I’ve been a member since middle of Feb and i only got $9 setting on my account. I seldom use it now. Still, thanks for being my one of my refs.
Btw, welcome back =)

Wow, I don’t even understand how you’ve gotten $9! How do you do it? That just seems impossible.
And thanks :]

I am going tomake everyone at work use this and maybe I can make a few bucks. They will probably all switch their homepage back to GOOG but it is worth a shot. MLM searching. Who would have thought.

Hi guys, I tried to register on this site but after 3 days i already got $15 on my account. I also dont know how they gave the commissions but it seems it works better for me. Though Im not always using this, just around 3 hours a day…and it earned.
