Get Traffic and Make Money Using Squidoo

While some of you may already be in on Squidoo and using it to your advantage, I didn’t pay any attention at all to Squidoo until just a few days ago, when I read this post. I thought Squidoo was just another dumb website that would be absolutely useless to me, so I ignored it completely. Another mistake! I wish I’d gotten in on Squidoo a while back, but at least I’m signed up now.
Using Squidoo, you can drive some real traffic to your site. Squidoo lets you create a page on their site, which they call a lens. Your page can be on practically any topic you want it to be. But you can not only get traffic for your blog by making a lens on Squidoo, you can earn some money! And you can even set your minimum payout to just one dollar, so it’s not hard at all.
On Squidoo I’ve already created five lenses, including Dozens of Great Quotes and All About Blog Carnivals. Lenses are easy to create and arrange. There are great modules you can add to your lens, including Plexo and modules to add that will make you more money (including Amazon, Ebay, etc). When you create a lens you can always edit and update it. It’s your page forever.
Why does Squidoo pay you for your lens?
Like I already mentioned, you can add money-making modules to your lens and make some real dollars, and get them sent right to your Paypal. But why does Squidoo actually pay you? It’s simple. You’re building a huge database of content for them, and in return, you get publicity, money, and webspace! It’s a great deal. ;)
How can you get traffic with a lens?
This is simple, too. If you create a lens be sure to link back to your site or blog on it. On each page, in my little ‘about me’ in the sidebar, I have linked to this blog. I have yet to actually link to this blog in the actual lens itself but that’s something I’ll be doing. If your blog is about gardening, start a gardening lens and link back to your blog. If you make sure what you’re linking to is relevant and helpful to the readers of your lens, you’ll get some traffic and maybe even some new readers to your blog!
Squidoo is not only easy to use but it’s fun and enjoyable. I have had a good time creating my lenses on their site. And on top of it all, Squidoo has become a trusted souce in Google’s view. Squidoo pages will rank easier and higher than other pages because of their authority.
Why use Squidoo?
If it’s not obvious enough by now, you can make easy money (and even donate percentages to dozens of great charities), create lenses and have your own space of the web easily and free, and link to your site/blog and draw in some traffic. There are a lot of advantages to Squidoo and I regret not joining in on the fun earlier! So sign up for Squidoo now!

Hi! I’m starting to love your blog :) I don’t know if you want to talk about this but anyway I’ll ask you: How much money are you making with your lens? And does it bring lot of traffic?
To tell you the truth I haven’t done much with my lens or promoted it yet, so I doubt I have made anything. But in a couple weeks I plan to start working very hard on ways to get more traffic, and this will include working on my Squidoo lenses. And once I start to work on them, I’m pretty sure those lenses will bring me a good source of traffic and I might get some money too. I’ve just got to make it a priority to focus on. :)

So how did you get on with Squidoo - I’ve got a couple of lenses there one on Louis Vuitton designer bags and one on Franck Muller extreme quality watches (his words not mine) and so far after 6 months I’ve made $7 ! Have you fared any better?

To be honest with you I haven’t used Squidoo much at all anymore. It’s a very great site but I think putting time and effort into blogging, producing quality comment, social media such as StumbleUpon, building traffic, etc. will help you gain more and make more money in the long run. That is where I currently stand. :)
I think Squidoo can be pretty profitable. You have to go about it with a marketing mind set just like everything else. Pick your niches with quality research and then add some great affiliate products as well as using the money making modules and you can be good to go. You have to keep your lenses updated, but google loves ‘em. You can get some great traffic really quickly, but you have to research to find a quality ~ money making niche before you just start throwing lenses up. Nice blog by the way~ Jackie Lee :)

You’re right. Squidoo is seen as a huge and very trustworthy source in Google’s eyes, which make it rank better. Most can’t beat Squidoo when it comes to ranking, so if you feel it’ll be more beneficial that way, then by all means, do it!

Yeah. Squidoo is great for giving short reviews of products and special bonuses. Besides google loves squidoo, so a high ranking is certain to come as well if you know SEO. Here’s some examples of the work that I do…

Notice how I keep them constant for all the different products I promote. Also the main plus to using squidoo as an affiliate website is that it’s free. No need for a domain or hosting, just create and publish.

IT really depends on how you build your lenses. If you use high traffic low competition keywords you can get a lot of traffic. I have lenses that get well over 1000 hits a week and make a few hundred dollars every month with no effort on my part.
I also have lenses that get absolutely no traffic at all. It’s all about your keyword research and finding a hungry market. :)
