Wordpress 2.2.1 Now Available

If you haven’t heard yet, version 2.2.1 of Wordpress is now available. It is a bug fix release for the 2.2 series which was released a month ago. Since that release, the Wordpress community has been improving small details and fixing bugs. Click here to see the full list of corrected bugs. Here are some highlights:
- Atom feed validation fixes
- XML-RPC fixes
- Widget backward compatibility fixes
- Widget layout fixes for IE7
- Page and Text Widget improvements
But 2.2.1 is not just a bug fix release, because some security issues came to light recently, which has made 2.2.1 a required upgrade. These vulnerabilities are addressed by 2.2.1:
- Remote shell injection in PHPMailer
- Remote SQL injection in XML-RPC
- Unescaped attribute in default theme

Will you be getting Wordpress 2.2.1 pronto, not just for the bug fixes for for the security issues as well? Personally, I don’t think I’m going to worry about it too much right away. I will get 2.2.1 but it’s not on my top list of priorities right now.
