All in One SEO Pack – You Need This!

July 17, 2007

Typing Hands OnlineLately I have told myself I need to get up off my butt and do some work on this blog. I’ve always been a lazy person, and I know that just won’t do. So I’m going to try to work harder.

Well, last night I got all freaked out over search engine optimization. It’s not something I’ve ever focused on a whole lot, even thought I know it’s extremely important.

I’ve been installing a lot of plugins these past couple days, as you might have noticed, so I went ahead and got a plugin that is perfect for my search engine optimization.

That plugin is the All in One SEO Pack. It absolutely perfect. After you have it installed and activated you just go to your WordPress dashboard then go to the Options tab, and then there is a sub-tab for All In One SEO.

It lets you type your home page’s title, your home description, and your home keywords. On the ‘write post’ page when you’re creating a post it lets you select the title for the post page and its keywords. You can set the All In One SEO to rewrite titles and make them more optimized for the search engines, you can select an option to use the category of the post as one of its META keywords, and you can use the category description as a title if you want to.

You can select for the search engines not to be able to index category or archive pages to avoid duplicate content. You can even have this plugin autogenerate descriptions. This is one of the best plugins out there, and if you don’t have it, you need to download it now. Search engine optimization is so important to every serious blogger and webmaster, and I should have been working harder at it sooner. But at least I am now. :)

Oh yes, and I have started tagging all my future posts for Technorati, and I will also go back and tag some of my important ones. If you’re not working on your SEO, now’s the time to start!

What plug-in do you use for Technorati tags?

I’m actually not using a plugin, YET. Right now I’m adding them manually, which you can learn how to do here:

But if you want to use a plugin, read this great post by Court. It seems like a very helpful and great plugin for not only tagging but also SEO and more:

I think it would be very wise if I switched to using that plugin sometime in the very near future.

I love this plugin, and can’t enough good things about it. I installed it about a week ago, and within a few days my google hits on my posts went up by 350%.

Easy to use, and highly effective! Thanks for the write-up.

I agree, this has to be one of the most useful and helpful plugins there is. And it’s good to know you got such great results from it!

Thank you, I’m glad you liked the post. :)

    Hi Tay,
More good stuff in this post, I will download that SEO plugin to add to my collection!
I have been using Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin for a week or so, and it usually offers you some good suggestions, in a box below the post editing box.
Are you also familiar with the ‘Hide Categories’ plugin? It is very good and I have reviewed it on my blog. This is a very useful plugin for anybody who is writing paid blog posts.
    Thanks again

    Hi Tay
This is another great plugin – I have spent hours in the past, trying to put my metatag info into the header, and hacking the code for the post titles to make them SEO friendly! This little gizmo is so quick and easy, it makes me want to start a new blog …..
I have been using Ultimate Tag Warrior for a week or so, it gives some good suggestions for tags, or you can choose them yourself. Either way it is fast and easy to do when writing a blog post.

    Thanks for sharing it,

@Flora – Ultimate Tag Warrior has been on my to-do list for some time. From an SEO standpoint, it’s supposed to be spectacular. Hopefully I can get it uploaded on this blog soon.

As for Hide Categories, no, I haven’t heard of that one. Thanks for letting me know; I will visit your blog and check out the review.

    Happy blogging! :)

Definitely a must have plugin for WP, there must be millions of blogs using All in one SEO pack! I wouldn’t run a blog without this plugin. There are other versions produced by other developers, but have never installed as AIOSP does everything I need :D

Got something to say?
