5 Handy Sites You Need To Know About

Great Helpful Sites on the InternetI’ve composed my next list of five sites that you shouldn’t miss out on. For some more helpful sites you should be aware of, including a form-creator, keyword suggestion tool, and free icons, click here. With my lists of handy sites, I’m trying to bring attention to you tools that could make your life easier and better. Here we go… ;)

1. StatCounter - If you have your own site, then this is perfect for you. You should be signed up for other statistic trackers such as Google Analytics (especially because all the information it provides), but this one is easy with no strings attached. Configure and put in an invisible (or even visible, if you want) tracker on your site, and you can login anytime and see how you’re doing. StatCounter is, like I said, simple. They offer graphs but don’t go into too much else detail. However, you want a variety of stats keepers to get a good idea, so if you’re using Google Analytics and nothing else, I recommend you sign up for StatCounter as well.

2. Who is Hosting This - This site might not be used all the time, but whenever you need it, it can come in very handy. Who is Hosting This is precisely what its name says. You can search up any blog or website and find out where it’s hosted. (I’ve been noted by one person that when they looked up their site, they got the wrong information. So it might not be a correct source 100% of the time).

3. Technorati Tag Generator - Have you ever seen those Technorati tags at the bottom of blog posts? Those draw in traffic for you when people search for the terms you’ve tagged, so USE THEM! Opens in a pop-up window. Bookmark the link for easy access. While the pop-up is up, click Ctrl+D to bookmark it, or save the non-pop-up form: http://technorati.com/tools/tag-generator/index.html

4. MyCoolButton - Wouldn’t it be great if you could make an awesome, modern, web 2.0 button for your site, or basically anything you wanted, for free and in a few easy steps? Well, you can if you use MyCoolButton. Personally, I think it’s one of the coolest sites out there for making your own graphics in a couple simple steps. Read my past review of it here.

5. SEO Tools - Last but very far from being least, I present to you, SEO Tools! Every serious or hoping-to-be-successful blogger or webmaster needs to use this. So many free tools on checking your PageRank, search engine rankings for a certain term, keyword density, meta and link analyzers, and more. I absolutely love SEO Tools and I don’t know what I’d do without them.

I hope some of these sites can be useful to you, I know they have been for me at time or another. Keep your eyes peeled for my next post that will provide notice about more sites like this, and in the meantime browse through some other great finds.

Thanks for the links. I got to check them out, and can see why you like them so much. I especially believe that the tag generator will be useful to me.

Hmm, I tried WhoIsHostingThis for my blog, and it gave me the wrong info. I contacted the owner to let him or her know, but I guess it’s worth noting that the site won’t always be right.

That’s odd. It’s worked for every site I’ve tried before. But thanks for letting me know; I’ll add the fact that it might be wrong sometimes to the post. :)
