Become a Bookmark and an Authority in One Post

By no means am I new to blogging, I’m certainly new to writing about blogging so don’t feel like I have to write about the same things over and over again (not sure how long that’ll last). One thing I did notice recently in that 1 Post I received 12 comments when I normally didn’t have any, most of those saying they bookmarked the post and because the subject of the post was very general to my niche I’m now seen as more of an authority.
So, what did I write about?
Well the answer is simple…I wrote a list. The list I wrote was regarding the best blog posts ever written in my niche, and you can do exactly the same for your niche. Don’t cringe at the thought of giving away all that ‘link love’. Your site is for your readers first and search engines second. If you know that you are going to raise your own status and provide tremendous value for your website visitors then who cares about search
engines? They will probably still rank the post well anyway.
What are the benefits of a List?
Resource - If you can create something that is a resource to your readers then they are going to bookmark it, tell others about it and probably subscribe to your feed. What screams more then bookmark me but a list of the best blog posts ever on a subject they are interested in?
Reputation - If you can grab peoples attention and create something newsworthy then your going to have your face and name out there in an industry you care about. Nothing gives you the image of being an authority on a subject as much as knowing all the top information in your industry.
Attention - Apart from the facts that people are going to get a taste of your blog and you personally in the online-sense, all these people you have linked to are likely to come on over and check what you have linked about and if they understand anything about being social online then they are also likely to comment on your post and thank you for linking to them.
