A New Twist on Wordpress Contact Forms

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Contact FormThe form I’m using on my contact page is more unusual than you might think! It’s a contact form with a twist (and when I say twist, I mean new advantage). Today I’m going to tell you all about it, so if you’re on the lookout for a new contact form then you’re in luck. ;)

It’s called the Simple Wordpress Contact Form, and the plugin page can be found here. Like the name says, it’s very simple. Commentators can leave their name, email, link, and message. Then their message heads straight for your email inbox - but that’s not the only place it goes!

The Simple Wordpress Contact Form doesn’t only deliver the message to your email, but it uses the Wordpress comments routine. A section is added to the comments part of your admin panel titled “Contact Messages”. If you can’t currently access your email or just don’t want to, then you can retrieve their message and read it within Wordpress! But if you want to reply, you do have to go to your email.

Another cool thing is the fact that the Simple Wordpress Contact Form works along with any anti-spam plugins you have installed for your comments. Because basically, that’s what it is. The contact form is integrated into your comments, and when people leave a message that’s what they’re doing: commenting. The difference is only you can see the comment and ones left by the form have their own section.

How does it work (copied from plugin page): “The form uses a standard page and adds a standard comment form to it. As soon as a comment is posted to the contact page and is approved by all anti-spam plugins, that comment is moved out of the “comments” db table to the (newly created) “contacts” table and emails are sent to the selected users.”

The one thing I wish you could do is reply from the admin panel as well, because often times I’m just too lazy to login to my email. Hehe. But if your contact form needs a new twist and maybe a different feature, this is the way to go. :)

Get Exposure and Higher Rankings UNBELIEVABLY CHEAP!

Get Exposure at Super BloggingI always find those high prices of advertising on other blogs ridiculous. A hundred dollars for a review? Twenty bucks for a link in their sidebar that only lasts a week? It’s basically like they’re stealing your money. It can be downright hard to get visitors to your blog, especially if you’re new to the whole concept. And it’s even harder if everyone is charging insane prices to “help” - but really, they’re only thinking of making money for themselves.

Super Blogging is now offering advertising for an unbelievably cheap price of only five dollars.

It’s far from easy to get the amounts of traffic that you want, or even that high PageRank you dream of. Advertising on Super Blogging can help you with that, and the price is cheaper than any other out there.

For only five dollars, your site will be listed in the “Recommended Sites” section of the sidebar with your choice of anchor text. Your link will remain there until September 21, so think of all that exposure you’ll be getting - and the higher rankings you’ll receive - for that extended period of time! Just hurry and order now so your link can be up there longer. :)

Did I mention the other bonus I’m throwing in FREE OF CHARGE? After the campaign ends on September 21, I will create a post that features the links to all of the sites that purchased advertisement, so you’ll get even more exposure and another link with your same anchor text.

And remember, all of that for only five bucks. It’s a fantastic deal, and you can order quickly and easily via Paypal. All you’ve got to do is fill out the form here. Use your Paypal email so I can send you the bill, and then just let me know what site you want me to link to and the anchor text you want to use. Once I’ve received your payment, your link will go live in the “Recommended Sites” section.

So let’s review. Until September 21 your link, with your choice of anchor text, will appear in my sidebar on every single page of this blog. In that time period you will receive higher exposure, rankings, and increased PageRank. Once this campaign is over you will be linked to with your anchor text YET AGAIN. And all of that for only five dollars. So what’s to lose? All you can do is gain. So contact me now and get in on the publicity before anymore time is wasted. :)

Plan When You Post Before You Publish

It’s not only important to plan what day of the week you post what on, but to plan what time you post as well. And both of these decisions aren’t the same for everyone; they depend on what niche your blog focuses on.

I’ve been studying my blog’s traffic trends, and I noticed my highest traffic day is a Tuesday, the second highest is Thursday, and the day where the least amount of people come to this blog is Saturday. Knowing this information is very important, because with it I can plan when to post about certain topics to get the most out of them.

For example, if I write a pillar post that I’ve worked really hard on, I would want to avoid posting it on the weekends when people are off the computers. Instead, it would be wise to publish the post on a Tuesday or Thursday, to get the highest benefit and exposure from it. To figure out your busiest and slowest days of the week, Stat Counter can be extremely handy, along with Google Analytics.

Besides knowing your traffic trends for days of the week (which will vary depending on what your site is about), it’s also important to know what time of the day to post. For me, I try to post in the mornings so the post will be in people’s feeds when they wake up, and it’ll be there for everyone.

But there’s an important thing to consider. Many people who read this blog come from the United States, so I try to post early in the morning of this timezone (Eastern). But if you live in the USA and you’re blogging about another country, you might want to schedule your posts to publish in the early morning of their timezone, if you have Wordpress. Use Google Analytics to figure out where your readers come from, and then publish your posts to fit THEIR schedule.

If you know when to publish, your posts can be seen by the right people at the right times and get highest amount of exposure possible. Once you master this, you’re well on your way to success!

Thoughts Aside

Wi-fi is very reputable and reliable search engine optimization, providing all-inclusive features in the affordable rates. You may download online backup software free of charge for the exclusive data recovery hardware. The web hosting services of reliable companies are most preferable rather than the cheapest one as if you get web hosting services in the cheapest rates; you have very limited features with the risk of non-availability of some important ones. You may facilitate the very cheapest and advanced features of telecommunication sectors if you sign up for the connection of internet phones through the internet phone company. With the introduction of varied kinds of affiliate program, the advertisers are earning the massive amount of profits.

5 Handy Sites You Need To Know About

Great Helpful Sites on the InternetI’ve composed my next list of five sites that you shouldn’t miss out on. For some more helpful sites you should be aware of, including a form-creator, keyword suggestion tool, and free icons, click here. With my lists of handy sites, I’m trying to bring attention to you tools that could make your life easier and better. Here we go… ;)

1. StatCounter - If you have your own site, then this is perfect for you. You should be signed up for other statistic trackers such as Google Analytics (especially because all the information it provides), but this one is easy with no strings attached. Configure and put in an invisible (or even visible, if you want) tracker on your site, and you can login anytime and see how you’re doing. StatCounter is, like I said, simple. They offer graphs but don’t go into too much else detail. However, you want a variety of stats keepers to get a good idea, so if you’re using Google Analytics and nothing else, I recommend you sign up for StatCounter as well.

2. Who is Hosting This - This site might not be used all the time, but whenever you need it, it can come in very handy. Who is Hosting This is precisely what its name says. You can search up any blog or website and find out where it’s hosted. (I’ve been noted by one person that when they looked up their site, they got the wrong information. So it might not be a correct source 100% of the time).

3. Technorati Tag Generator - Have you ever seen those Technorati tags at the bottom of blog posts? Those draw in traffic for you when people search for the terms you’ve tagged, so USE THEM! Opens in a pop-up window. Bookmark the link for easy access. While the pop-up is up, click Ctrl+D to bookmark it, or save the non-pop-up form: http://technorati.com/tools/tag-generator/index.html

4. MyCoolButton - Wouldn’t it be great if you could make an awesome, modern, web 2.0 button for your site, or basically anything you wanted, for free and in a few easy steps? Well, you can if you use MyCoolButton. Personally, I think it’s one of the coolest sites out there for making your own graphics in a couple simple steps. Read my past review of it here.

5. SEO Tools - Last but very far from being least, I present to you, SEO Tools! Every serious or hoping-to-be-successful blogger or webmaster needs to use this. So many free tools on checking your PageRank, search engine rankings for a certain term, keyword density, meta and link analyzers, and more. I absolutely love SEO Tools and I don’t know what I’d do without them.

I hope some of these sites can be useful to you, I know they have been for me at time or another. Keep your eyes peeled for my next post that will provide notice about more sites like this, and in the meantime browse through some other great finds.

Will Guest Blogging Ruin Your Site?

I recently saw a post on Kumiko’s blog titled All Guest Bloggers Must Die. As soon as I read the title I was instantly lured in. But although I do agree with some points Kumiko makes, I have to say that overall, I do disagree with her. Will guest blogging ruin your site? Kumiko thinks so, but I don’t.

Many people agree that they only go to a blog for what its author has to say - and when you bring in the guest bloggers, that totally defies the purpose and takes away all pleasure of reading your blog. But is this really true? Not for me. Kevin has just gotten a team of authors together for his blog, and so far I love reading what each and every one of them has to say. Not only do all of his readers seem happy with the decision, but the authors get a chance for exposure on another blog and Kevin gets some well-deserved time off.

The sole important thing is making sure that you get a decent guest blogger - not one that couldn’t care less. It’s true that people won’t give you their best posts. They’ll save those for their own blogs. But you can’t accept just anything, the quality of the posts still has to match your standards. But if you can find a guest blogger whose writing style is good and they know what they’re talking about, then by all means, give it a go.

And even if I read a guest post that I find absolutely horrible, I just skip over it instead of abandoning the blog completely. If things don’t work out for you, you’re not doomed. Experiment and see if guest blogging is something you’d like to consider. All in all, I’m pretty sure it won’t ruin your site. There are some cons, but I do believe they’re not significant enough and that the pros outweigh them.

I could discuss this topic so much more, but instead I’m going to invite you to share your thoughts. Please, drop a comment and tell me why you like or dislike guest blogging, and your past experiences with it, or if you plan to try it out for the future. Or even think about becoming a Super Blogging contributor! Happy blogging! :)
