Troubles (Please Bear with Me)!

Well, it’s been a busy few days (longer than that, to be honest). Over a week ago Firefox deleted all of my bookmarks, which contained a lot of important saved information, sites, tools, articles, and more. I discovered that not soon enough, and it was too late to recover all of my bookmarks. Firefox does five backups a day, and they’re quickly replaced by new backups. I didn’t realize soon enough to recover one of the five, so I lost it all. That was the first downfall.
The following day, my laptop broke. Again. There’s something wrong with it, and I can assure you it’s not my fault. Heh. When it’s plugged in the light is supposed to come on, the screen is supposed to be brighter, and it’s supposed to charge. Most of you should know how a laptop is supposed to act when it’s plugged into an outlet. Anyway, it acts like it’s NOT plugged in. It won’t charge and lives off its battery life. And since it won’t charge, when it runs out of battery and dies, I can’t even turn it on again. It did this a few months ago, we took it and got it fixed, and guess what? It’s doing it again. The stupid computer store doesn’t open up until Tuesday morning, so we have to wait that long. For now, I’m using a different computer, but I hardly have any time that I’m allowed to access it.
I’ve been working so hard lately on trying to up my traffic and write good, new quality content, but you’re going to have to bear with me. At the rate I’m going, some days I might have no computer access and some days I might have an hour or two. And if you know me that’s certainly not a lot. Hopefully we’ll take my laptop on Tuesday morning and it’ll be fixed soon. Hopefully.
Besides that, I want to buy the new Sims 2 expansion pack, Bon Voyage, and get to playing!
But even more, I think I just need a new computer. I don’t know what’s wrong with this one but something tells me if we are able to get it fixed, it will only continue to keep messing up. Besides, I wouldn’t mind a new one. Maybe it’s time…
I’ll stop blabbering and have some mercy on you. Basically, it’s a lot tougher to keep up with this blog right now and I hope you won’t punish me and abandon me. I’m doing the best I can. On top of losing all my bookmarks and my laptop breaking, I have writer’s block, and I’m not even sure if my own advice will get me through it. Wish me luck, and now it’s your turn to have some mercy on ME! Please?
If you’d really like to give me a helping hand, and help yourself out in the process (you can reach new potential readers, get backlinks, and drive traffic), consider guest blogging?

I hope you get it sorted out quickly. I know how frustrated you must feel right now. I’ve had the same thing and I got so frustrated from bringing the laptop to the shop to get it fixed that I just digged into my savings and bought a desktop computer.

Don’t worry, we won’t abandon you! I hope you get your laptop fixed quickly, and to your satisfaction.
I have a question about your Firefox bookmark loss. Were you using Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer by any chance? That’s what I use so my bookmarks are always saved up to their server. Now I’m worried I can’t trust it. Let me know if that’s what you were using. Maybe I’ll export mine locally now and then, just to be safe.
Good luck with your laptop ills. We anxiously await your return!

Tay.
Sorry to hear about your troubles right now. I hope your computer gets fixed quickly.

@Sandra - Yes, I would definitely like to have a new computer myself but it’s not possible right now. Thank you!
@Kathy - I wasn’t using anything special, just the plain old bookmarks. This happened to me a few years ago with Firefox but I’d thought nothing of it back then… I’d never had much of anything important those times. I’m not sure why the bookmarks delete themselves but when I get my computer fixed I’ll definitely be trying something different, or at least backing up.
@Steven - Thanks bunches. I just wanted to let everyone know what was going on so they didn’t think I was just being lazy. *laughs* I hope to get everything back together shortly!

No worries Tay, we’ll be here. I think we all know what it’s like to have these types of unexpected computer troubles, and how endlessly frustrating they are, so don’t worry. Until then, here’s hoping that everything gets fixed for you ASAP.
Shine on,
Aaron

I have you on my reader so you’ll stay unless months go by. Hope you get all fixed soon

@Vic Grace - Thanks, that’s glad to know. I’m still trying to put up a daily post and reply to all the comments because I have time for that, but in case anything happens and I can’t get computer access at all I just wanted you all to know what’s going on. Thanks again!

Regarding writers block, or “conversation block” even - I was in Santa Cruz the last few days on a quick vacation, and found an Urban Outfitters store - never been in one of these before, but they are very cool.
Over in their knick-knack corner, they had something called conversation starters - you’re supposed to use them if you have a group over for dinner. You open the box, pull out the first card (like Trivial Pursuit, etc), read the question and that starts the conversation by everyone answering it.
I thought - this is an interesting way to get rid of writers block as well. So for example, the first question in the box (I peeked inside one) was telling the group about the last place you took a vacation. Sounds simple, but one topic leads to another and leads to another and suddenly you have an entire 2 hours of a dinner party filled with conversation.
I might give it a try on those days when I really want to write about something, but am not sure what to write about.

@Heath - That’s genius! I’m not the greatest person at starting conversations, so that set of cards would be perfect for me. And you’re right about realizing how great they would be for blog topics, especially if you blog about life and random things. Thanks for sharing; I’ll definitely have to look into getting myself some of them.
