Over in their knick-knack corner, they had something called conversation starters - you're supposed to use them if you have a group over for dinner. You open the box, pull out the first card (like Trivial Pursuit, etc), read the question and that starts the conversation by everyone answering it. I thought - this is an interesting way to get rid of writers block as well. So for example, the first question in the box (I peeked inside one) was telling the group about the last place you took a vacation. Sounds simple, but one topic leads to another and leads to another and suddenly you have an entire 2 hours of a dinner party filled with conversation. I might give it a try on those days when I really want to write about something, but am not sure what to write about.
