@Ruchir - Sorry, I remember now. I used to have it working but when I changed themes I didn't bother with again. I forgot how it used to work because, like I said, I didn't look into it again because I'm not interested. Thanks for your help though. :)

@Heath - :D That's amazing. I don't know if I'd be able to visit so many other blogs and not itch to have my own, but that's a pretty awesome prospect. As for posting on really busy sites, you're right. Sometimes you have to wonder, why bother? Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

@Frank C - That's a genius idea! Thanks for giving me this advice, I'll definitely try it out and see how it works for me.

@Ruchir - I do have it installed. It doesn't work with my theme for some reason. Besides, it was fine when I was using it, but I'm okay with this form of contacting too. Thanks for your suggestion, if commenting becomes a problem here I'll add it again. :)

Hey Tay, just a suggestion: why don't you install the Brian's threaded comments plugin? It'll be much easier for you to reply to people's comments. :)

I wrote a post on this called "Long Tail Prospecting For Bloggers". Essentially you go to those A-Listers blogs, see who's commenting, and visit their sites. If you can make a meaningful comment there, do so. If you really like an article they've written, include it in a "link love" post. It builds both traffic and relationships for both blogs.

I know that I was happy when Tay commented on my site a while back :-)

I recently read about a guy who does nothing but comment. He doesn't have a site, or a blog, he just comments on other people's blogs. Neat concept and I realized that basically he IS blogging, just doing it on other people's sites instead of his own.

I rarely post on really busy sites, because it seems like by the time I read the post, there are already 1000 other people who wanted to be the first commenter. I don't have a need to be the first, but when I'm 1000, I wonder if my message will even be read by anyone - so sometimes I don't even bother.

@Sandra - Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Yes, the A-listers get so many comments they get to the point where they don't really care so much anymore. Smaller bloggers devour what you have to say and really appreciate it more, and there's actually a very, VERY likely chance you'll get a response back and a continued relationship.

I prefer to comment on the smaller blogs. Not because my comment gets more noticed by other bloggers, but because the interaction is better. Like mentioned before it's very unlikely that an 'A-list' bloggers reacts to what you say, where as the smaller blogs do.
