Thanks for the link to the LivePR. I have always wanted a tool to find the PR of my inner pages, but could not find one.

Thomas,

Internal rankiing is still really great so congratulations! I don't understand how some of my pages got the rankings they did either, but I guess I won't complain. :)

My main page is a 2, but I have one internal post that is a 5, one that is a 4, and a lot of 3's and 2's.

It is quite strange that the internals are higher than the main page, but the 5 was a review of the SitePoint Web Design Kit, and got linked from their sales page.

@Kathy - Glad this could help!

@Wayne Liew - Congratulations on the PR4, that's an awesome ranking! It also surprised me that one of my posts had the same rank as my homepage as well.

@Heath - You did really well in this PR update by the looks of it! I agree with you, this is a very helpful tool.

@Michael Eyer - No, it's certainly not a bad thing. Newer sites (such as ones that have existed about the same timeframe as yours) often don't get a ranking their first time around since they haven't had as long to generate links. Don't worry though, you're definitely going to rock the next update! :)

@Steven - I'm glad you found the tool helpful. As for your comment, I think it's pretty unethical because when people do this they are masking the sponsored link into the post FOREVER - which, like you said, is also very stupid. I doubt I would ever sell permanent advertising on this site like that because that pretty much binds you down for life on the agreement. Selling a permanent link on a post for a big sum of money could be a very sneaky and evil tactic, and one Google would never approve of - it's just something I don't approve of either.

Tay,
Thanks for linking to that tool, I ave it running now. So far my highest PR page is an individual blog post.

I recently had two different people contact me about purchasing links on individual pages that you mention. One was for pretty significant money (at least in my opinion), but I turned them both down for a few reasons. I don't really agree that it's unethical though. I don't see a big difference between that and some other types of advertising, and I've never read a decent explanation of why it's unethical. I think it's stupid to sell permanent links, you're just asking for a Google ban and then you won't be able to get rid of the links. I'd be interested in hearing more about why you think it's unethical.

Selling permanent links on good PR pages might be unethical and a bit evil, but you're going to have the least chance of getting caught (assuming you integrate it into your content)...

My home page got 4, my blog main page got 3....most of the posts are either not ranked or 1's.

There were a couple 2's that I was surprised by - mostly categories of blog posts vs. actual blog posts. Very odd.

This is really an excellent tool to see some of those posts from long ago that are still ranked relatively high comparitively.
