Group Writing Project: Featuring YOUR Articles About Blogging

May 14, 2008

shareyoursmarts.png Do you remember the last group writing project, The All-Time Best Blogging Articles, which was back in January? Well now it’s time to do that all again and welcome round three of Super Blogging’s group writing project. Here’s a quick rundown:

Basically, I’m trying to collect dozens of the most helpful articles about blogging and compile them all in one well-organized and extensive resource. These compilations always attract plenty of attention and views, which not only draws in traffic, but also sends those information-hungry visitors right to you and your blog.

So how does it work? Basically, go through the recent archives of your blog and find the very best articles about blogging: making money online, traffic generation, WordPress customization, search engine optimization, creating backlinks, improving writing skills, social media, increasing RSS subscribers, selling a blog, being productive, etc. This niche is very broad and covers plenty of things, so if you’ve written about anything relevant, it’ll work (and if you’re not sure, don’t hesitate to ask). Then all you do is submit your work, and we’ll link to the article here!

Obviously I want this to be a nice collection of informative and valuable articles written by fellow bloggers, so there are a few rules:

  • You can submit up to 3 articles, but no more than that.
  • The articles can be new or written in the past, as long as they are still relevant.
  • The articles must be related somehow to blogging (just ask me if you’re not sure).
  • The deadline for all submissions is May 26. Articles submitted after that usually won’t be accepted (but you can always wait and submit again in the next group writing project).

To submit your articles, use this contact form. Please make sure you send me the URL to your articles, and if you like, tell me what they are about. Since I might not be able to include all the article submissions I receive, please send me your best quality work to make this resource as good as possible!

I’ll be composing this list shortly after May 26, the deadline – so please make sure you send me your articles on time. If your article is included in the list, it will be linked to and your name/site will be shown along with it, giving you links and exposure, not to mention inclusion in a permanent resource.

I can’t wait to read all of your articles, so please go ahead and submit yours. Up to three per person, and your best work please!

Experiment – Entrecard or $2 Banner Ads on Super Blogging? Grab Yours Now!

May 5, 2008

I’ve been using Entrecard for many months now and written a few posts on it as well (see: Why I’m Using Entrecard and Entrecard: Is It Worth It?). I’m an Entrecard fan – while it doesn’t bring me loads of quality traffic, it has helped me find new blogs and in return increased the exposure of my own blog and put it in front of more eyes. However, I figured it’s time to switch things up a bit and try a little experiment. This doesn’t mean that Entrecard is gone from this blog permanently, but I’m going to put something else in its place for the time being – and that would be one more 125×125 ad. There’s a secret though: it costs just $2!

You may have noticed that 125×125 ads on Super Blogging are $25 a month, which is still a reasonable price – but why on earth would I sell one for $2? Fact 1: This ad is going to be below the fold, but still visible to anyone who reads the content. Fact 2: It’s $2 per week, which in turn equals out to be less than 0.3 cents a day. Fact 3: Hundreds of people have clicked on that Entrecard widget, and I figured it’s now time to give those visitors to you – my readers.

This is merely but an experiment, and after I retire it I have others in mind. But this is definitely something to take advantage of! $2 is virtually nothing when it comes to advertising, so you’ve got everything to gain. Here are the rules: a), You can only order one week at a time. I don’t want one person taking over this deal, and I’m not sure how long the experiment will last. b), There will be a waiting list, for week one, week two, week three, and so on. Even if the spot is already taken, you can go ahead and order and be placed on the immediate waiting list for your 125×125 ad to be shown. Entrecard users and Super Blogging visitors alike can take advantage of this one!

So, in effect of this experiment, the Entrecard widget has been temporarily removed and replaced with a 125×125 ad spot that can be bought out for a minuscule price of $2 a week. Interested in buying? Go ahead and comment or email me letting me know that you’re taking part, and the details to your banner (URL and where it links to). Remember, this deal isn’t going to last forever and I DO NOT save spots for anyone, so if you want this, you’ve got to hurry and grab it now! Enjoy, and thanks for taking part in the experiment (which I will explain the reasons for and give all the details on once it’s over).

The Best of the Blogosphere: May 2, 2008

May 2, 2008

the best of the blogosphere This is the first roundup post here at Super Blogging since I moved them from weekly to bi-weekly, and so far I’m glad I made that decision. It’s opened up space for more real content and made the roundup articles a bit more valuable. After making that choice I wrote 8 Ways To Add Value With Link Roundup Posts, which discusses my decision and also how link posts add value, and how to make yours even more valuable. It’s worth checking out! Also, as always, if you’ve written something on your own site that you’d like me to share with my readers, feel free to email me and I might include it next time!
