Three Free Ways to Build Dofollow Links
July 12, 2008
When people first learn about link building as a part of search engine marketing (SEO), they run across many different offers from companies willing to get links to their websites for them, for a price. They also see high PageRank websites offering to sell links on their site on a per month basis, in order to essentially pass that PageRank onto your site, giving your site more authority in the search engines. While this is a viable method the get authority for your website or blog, it can get very expensive, and frankly, it’s out of the budget for most bloggers or beginning website owners who just bought hosting, a domain, and a website design. The good news is that there are ways to find dofollow links (ones that pass authroity onto your site, as opposed to nofollow links, which don’t). I am going to show you 4 easy ways to get dofollow links to your site.
1. Comment on Dofollow Blogs. One of the easiest way to get some authority back to your site and a good start to your link building campaigns is commenting on blogs that are dofollow. This is beneficial for a few reasons. First, like I said, it passes authority to your site. Secondly, it provides an opportunity for traffic, since the owner of the site you’re commenting on is likely to visit your site, and people reading that blog might possibly come check your blog or website out.
Here are a few good dofollow search engines and lists:
2. Submit Your Site to Social Media Sites with Dofollow. There are tons of social media sites out there. Digg and Stumbleupon are some of the most popular. But, not all social media sites are created equal. Yah, sites like Stumbleupon can bring you great traffic, but the links on their site to your site are useless for search engine optimization. You need to find and submit your blog posts or your site’s pages to some dofollow social media sites in order to not only get link authority, but also possibly some traffic.
The following are some dofollow social media sites you should use:
3. Lastly, and arguably the best place for building traffic (in addition to the dofollow links) is to use forums that allow you to have a dofollow signature. if you can find a forum that is related to your site that allows you to have a dofollow link in your signature, it can be huge, because each post that you make not only gives you a backlink to your site (via the signature) but also is a marketing tool for your site. If your site is about the Nintendo Wii, and you are active in a Nintendo Wii forum with dofollow signature links, then everytime that you post, people have an opportunity to see your link in the signature, and possibly go to your site. If not, you still get the backlinks regardless, and since it’s a related site, it counts more than just a regular dofollow link (though those are important also).

Hope these sites help you out in the search for dofollow links!
