MyCoolButton - Free Button Maker

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Have you ever wished you could make a cool button, one that is unbelievably modern and web 2.0? But sometimes you don’t have the skills or the time to do it yourself. Well, with MyCoolButton you can have a button that just screams professionality.

The first step is you choose how big your button will be. There is a slider so it’s super easy. Minimum amount is 100 pixels, maximum is 200. The second step is choosing your color. There are visible samples, organized in “neutrals”, “bold”, and “muted” colors. Or you can pick your own completely unique color. The third step you can choose whether there will be an icon or not. You can upload your own icon, or choose from ones they have. They have an RSS icon, Youtube icon, Feedburner icon, and more. Great for promoting yourself! And through dropdowns you get to choose your icon size and alignment. The last step is your font and text. You can choose text to go along with your icon or your button can be text only.

It’s simple and takes just a couple minutes, then your button is downloadable. All for free, and it looks professional too! I have some plans in the future to use MyCoolButton, but for now, check out some of these examples I’ve made for you to see:

This free button maker is amazing and could definitely be used throughout your blog or by means of promotion. I could see myself using that subscribe button I made and putting it in my sidebar someday! Click here to make your own web 2.0 button. Or click here to see examples on their website.

Get Reviewed for Free with ReviewBack

There are a lot of ways to promote your blog online, but one of the biggest and the most effective is getting it reviewed on another person’s blog or website. Getting your blog reviewed has always costed quite a lot of dough until now - now it can be free, with ReviewBack!

ReviewBack was created by the same people who thought up AdGridWork. Its beta launch was June 6. ReviewBack is an exchange system where you review someone else’s site and they review yours. There is a database of blogs and you can either request the reviews or wait until others request from you. I’ve already signed up and the program appears to be very easy to use. If you want to swap reviews with me, click here. I won’t review with just everyone though ;)

I can see ReviewBack becoming very big in the future, and I have a lot of hope in this system. It’s a great idea, especially for those bloggers out there (like me) who can’t yet afford to purchase high dollar reviews from others. You can build a buzz and get your blog noticed without paying a cent!

If you want more information, you should read what Kevin and Stephen Welton have to say. If you’re ready to sign up for this awesome program, click here.

Fun, Addictive Games

Blogging can get exhausting after awhile, no matter how much you’re in love with it. I could spend all day long writing content, reading other blogs, trying to get new traffic and making money online. But even too much of a good thing is bad. If you spend eight hours a day, seven days a week around blogging, then it might start to seem a little like a chore and get a little tiring. You don’t want that to happen! That’s why you should take a break, try something new, and check out one of these fun, addictive games I’m about to introduce to you.

Over at MeAndMyDrum, a post was made about Jelly Jumper. This is a very fun game and one I could play for a long sitting! You’re jumping around on a keyboard, and you try to land on the right keys. Each level is harder than the one before it.

My personal favorite is Pacxon. Not only does it have cool music and sound effects, but it’s fun enough that I have to play it numerous times daily. I’ve never been obsessed with any online game more, especially one as simple as this. Pacxon is sort of like Pacman, except you’re trying to fill up at least 80% of space and build walls… Check it out!

The Helicopter Game is a good one, too. It’s simple - there are no objectives, power-ups, or anything special to remember. All you’ve got to do is hold down the mouse to go up, and let go of it to decline. Avoid hitting anything!

Other games you might want to try are Virus, Off-sides, Fish, City Jumper, and Insaniquarium. If you still can’t get enough, check out Popcap, BigFishGames, and AlbinoBlackSheep for more.

And remember - it’s great and much-needed to take a break every now and then, but don’t let games distract you for TOO long ;)

Track, Evaluate, and Improve with Crazy Egg

Nope, this post isn’t an advertisement, it’s me showing my love for the program Crazy Egg. I found out about Crazy Egg on Aaron Cook Dot Com, and right from the moment I signed up for this, I loved it.

To get awesome results, you have to pay, but there’s also a free version to Crazy Egg that works just as nicely (that’s what I’m using). With Crazy Egg you enter in your site’s address, paste a tracking code into your site’s HTML, and you’re off!

The way to view your site’s statistics and results is awesome. Crazy Egg has a screenshot of the page you’re evaluating. Then it tells what was clicked and how many times. My favorite part is the heatmap. With a heat map, you can see where EXACTLY a person clicked their mouse. If they clicked a link, the heat map lights up in the exact spot they clicked. And the more something is clicked, the more heated up it looks. This can help you evaluate what on your site is being used - and what space is being wasted.

Crazy Egg is a site I’ve fallen in love with already. It helps me track so many things that I could never find out before, and I’m doing it for free! Crazy Egg definitely isn’t a scam, and it’s one of the most helpful, handy tools I’ve found so far. I really recommend you checking it out, if you have a blog or wesbite. You can enhance your site’s results.

“Crazy Egg makes it easy to:
Test different versions of a page to see which works better
Discover which ad placement gives the best results and most clicks
Find out which design encourages visitors to click deeper
Learn which content leads to improved sales
And so much more!”

Test and improve your site/blog with Crazy Egg. I just found it a few hours ago, and I already know that I’ll be logging in and checking up on results every day for a long, long time.
