WidgetBucks is a Worthless SCAM!

Surprise, surprise… It’s all a scam!

UPDATE: WidgetBucks has paid their members, but I still firmly believe they are a scam. Please read WidgetBucks Pays… But They’re Still A Scam to learn more.

WidgetBucks.com, the new competition for Google Adsense? Originally I thought so, but maybe not. Their motto is Ads suck, ours don’t. Okay, so maybe their ads don’t suck the least bit, but the way they run their company surely does.

Lately WidgetBucks have been realized to be worthless scammers, pretty freaking sneaky, and downright thieves. If you think I’m exaggerating, then you are DEAD WRONG. I am not the only one who thinks so. I have only been a member of WidgetBucks for a few days but have already been cheated by them. Just who do they think they are, anyway? Maybe they’re letting it go to their heads that people are saying they are the next Adsense.

I joined WidgetBucks for many reasons. The main one was because Adsense wasn’t making me much money when I had it installed, so I thought I would give WidgetBucks a go, hearing how their clicks can average around $0.50 each! My second reason was because upon joining, you get a free $25 to start you off - that sets your account halfway to the $50 payout! Why does WidgetBucks give away a free $25? Because you will never actually receive it. It’s just a gimmick!

Your account will never reach the minimum payout because all WidgetBucks does is wipe your money straight out from under you - that’s what they did to me. I had a couple dollars, and the next day it was gone. I originally installed one banner at the top of my homepage. It received some clicks, got me some earnings. The next day, I saw a big fat $0.00 staring right back at me. Where did my money go? Then the next thing I noticed was that the single person I had referred had also been erased from my account - I did not get credit for that either!

Do you know why WidgetBucks pays a lot more per click than Adsense does and why they give you free cash? Because you’re never going to get it. It’s all a scam to get you to sign up and refer others so THEY will get the money. Then you, their unsuspecting victim (and all those you told the site about) who has been advertising for them, suddenly logs on to find all your money gone or at least a huge chunk missing.

This is just a warning to all you folk out there who are using WidgetBucks - you are NEVER going to get anything in return! They offer a lot of extra money for various things and even have a referral system, but when they think you aren’t looking they delete your earnings records. This makes it so you will never reach that minimum $50 payout.

Don’t be caught supporting a phony program! Please share your opinions and let me know if you see anything fishy going on in YOUR WidgetBucks.com account. Who knows, I might be wrong, but it seems pretty suspicious that everyone’s earnings are just disappearing doesn’t it? Whatever’s going on here IS NOT honest.

CashQuests.com Sold for $15,000!

I’ve been reading CashQuests.com now for many, many months. It was one of the first make money online sites I ever came across, back in the very beginning of 2007.

I have always loved and appreciated Kumiko’s style of writing. She has a very direct and blunt approach that so many people just couldn’t resist. In fact, I included her in my article titled 3 Bloggers You Should Strive To Be More Like because she speaks her mind and that’s a good quality to have!

Now I have noticed that CashQuests.com just recently sold for $15,000. That is such a fantastic price to receive for a site! Of course, CashQuests.com is very valuable and has a lot of great content and a good reputation.

I think how Kumiko branded her blog was magnificent. At some point in the future, I plan to start new blogs that will be intended for selling (because I doubt I will sell this one). Hopefully I can be a great online money maker like Kumiko is - she was a genius from the start, and you could learn a lot from her!

ScratchBack: A New Way To Leave Tips

ScratchBack Beta

I first heard about a site called ScratchBack on MeAndMyDrum.com. When I originally read about ScratchBack, I thought that it would be something else I wasn’t even going to bother messing around with.

But now if you look to the right and scroll down, you’ll see I have the ScratchBack widget installed. So what is it and what’s the deal?

ScratchBack is basically in the terms of, I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine. What you do is add a small piece of code where you want the widget displayed, and people who like your site and want to donate to you or tip you for your efforts can purchase a link.

However, these links are nofollow, which means you are not technically selling ad space or even passing off link juice (so basically, you can’t get Google slapped for this at all). The whole concept is that if someone likes your site and feels like you deserve a tip, they can give it to you and get a link in your “TopSpots” in return.

My TopSpots widget is in the sidebar, and I have it set up so that there are five links for just $2.00 each. When you buy a link you are placed at the top of the list, and when others purchase links you are slowly bumped down to the bottom and eventually off of the list again. Using ScratchBack you could also select a set time for the links to be up, such as a week, but I thought the auto-bump was much more fun! ;)

ScratchBack is a great site with a unique idea and a lot of potential. If you’re accepting donations on your site, trying using ScratchBack to get an attractive widget and a fun method of doing things!

Let me know what you think about it and if you recommend that it’s a keeper!

What PageRank Are Your Internal Pages?

Recently I read a post on CashQuests.com titled Find The PageRank For Every Page On Your Site. I hadn’t yet checked the rankings of all my internal pages yet since the new PageRank update, so I clicked on over to the tool Kumiko listed. If you use the LivePR tool, you can see the rankings for all the pages of your site, not just your homepage.

My homepage got a PR3, which I already knew. Only one of my posts also got a PR3. All my other internal pages were either PR2, PR1, or had no ranking at all. One thing that I thought was weird were that some pages on my site that got a PR2 were some of my most unpopular posts or some weird pages, like the lost password login page. And then, my most popular pillar post, 75 Ways To Increase Your Site’s Traffic, which got the most backlinks and lots of attention, didn’t even get a PageRank. I’m still finding it a bit odd, but that’s Google for you I suppose!

After you check the rankings for your internal pages, I do recommend that you read Kumiko’s post. She informs us of an interesting concept about how can you make money online with your individual posts’ PageRank. She claims she does not condone it and will never implement it on her site, but it’s interesting nonetheless.

Apparently some people make money online by selling permanent links worth hundreds of dollars on their pages that rank nicely. Google would never approve of the tactic either, but if you want to learn more check out Kumiko’s post. Remember though - that is the evil, unethical way to make money online!

Let me know how you did in the most recent PageRank update, or any other ways to know of to make money with nicely ranked internal pages. I hope to do a lot better next time, so now I will be working harder on building links as well as traffic. Happy blogging, and keep making cash! :)

5 Ways to Make Your PayPerPost Posts More Appealing to Your Readers

This post was guest blogged by Ruchir of TechnoMoney. Ruchir is only in 10th Grade but blogs about topics such as make money online at his blog TechnoMoney. There you’ll find various blogging tips, ways to make money, money saving tips and occasional news about technology and the internet at large.

PayPerPost can be a great way to earn some decent money, especially when your blog is only a couple of months old. However, if not used correctly it can turn into a nuisance for your readers. To make sure that your readers don’t get annoyed by these sponsored posts, I present you 5 ways of making PPP sponsored posts more appealing to your readers:

  • Make sure that the opportunity you choose is relevant to the theme of your blog. For example, don’t pick an opportunity about bicycles if you have a make money online blog.
  • Research about the website you’re reviewing and give an honest opinion of the website.
  • Don’t use too much ‘pre-sell’ language.
  • Try to make the sponsored post as ‘normal’ as possible. Don’t try to force the reader to sign-up for a website. Just imagine if you have stumbled upon the site and no one is paying for the review. Write your post just like that. It will turn out to be more natural and might appeal more to the reader.
  • Don’t sound too much like you’ve been paid for the post. I have seen many people who use PPP post sponsored posts that were highly discriminatory and said that the website in question was great. When I actually visited the website, it was absolute crap. If you do like this, your readers might loose your trust.

I know that was a pretty short list. But then I like to get to the point and I believe these 5 points covered pretty much everything. Still, if you have something more that can make PPP posts more appealing, feel free to write it in the comments; I’d love to hear what you have to say.
